           BRIAN SCOTT

Brian Scott bought his first guitar at the age of thirteen while living in New Orleans, Louisiana. The idea of having a guitar on his shoulder, being on the road traveling to new places and meeting new people, while at the same time entertaining them, was exactly what Scott envisioned for his life.  Growing up in New Orleans gave Scott plenty of opportunity to experience world-class musicians playing jazz, blues, rock and folk music. Fascinated with the music industry and eager to learn about the business, Scott set out to manage bands while he honed in on his guitar skills.   After several years working with other bands, Scott started singing and writing his own tunes. In 1997 he was ready to establish his own band, and One Eyed Mickey was born. The three song EP entitled IRIS was recorded and released by the band. When asked about the band’s name, Scott would tell the story about the one eyed dog called Mickey that got into a fight with a much bigger dog in the neighborhood. Scott always remembered how impressed he was with the smaller dog’s courage.

Playing at popular clubs including Tipitinas, Chevy's, and The Howlin Wolf, One Eyed Mickey received a lot of local attention. While “One Eyed Mickey” began gathering moss locally, Brian decided to start a solo project as well, performing his songs on guitar. After several years of touring the southeast college circuit, in 1999 he was invited to join and record with another band in New Orleans, the popular alternative rock band NOZMOKING.  As stated by the Houston Press, NOZMOKING was "…one of the best bands to ever hit the Houston music scene”, and they provided the additional exposure Scott was looking for.

While Scott brought his unique guitar playing style and original songs to their lineup for the next two years, the band performed over 200 shows across the Southeast region of the US, gaining large numbers of fans along the way. Scott also recorded a few new tracks with them that they sold at their shows to keep the hungry fans happy.  A favorite on college campuses, the band played Louisiana State University, Mississippi State, University of Southern Mississippi, Georgia Tech, and the University of Southern Georgia to name a few.  They also made sure to play some of the hottest clubs in the Southeast, including Rick’s Cafe', Sherlock's Pub, Spinnakers and the Blue Room. Scott was skillfully gaining a reputation and he was living his ideal life.

As a featured sideman, and still performing on his own, Scott began to develop his confidence and his renowned raspy and expressive vocal style. He also continued to work on his brand of music.  With his focus more on a body of work, as opposed to one song at a time, his lyrics were increasingly about things that mattered to him.  Songs about relationships, family, friends and traveling became a big part of Scott’s sound. In 2001 he put out his first solo CD, titled BRIAN SCOTT. Recorded in the beautiful harbor town of Pass Christian, Mississippi, whose slogan is in part “Where tradition meets the future,” he collaborated with producer and engineer Billy Harshbarger of 3 Doors Down.  Scott and Harshbarger played all the instruments on the CD. It was during those sessions that Scott began carving out his niche in American acoustic rock music, pulling from the more traditional folk music of the 60’s and mixing it in with new elements to create a hard hitting acoustic rock sound.  In 2006 Scott released his second solo CD, In Your Eyes, which garnered a great deal of regional attention and airplay as he continued to play over 175 dates a year throughout the northeast, performing solo as well as with The Brian Scott Band Residing now in Providence, Rhode Island, Scott is currently focusing on his next release entitled GEORGIA, scheduled to be out in the spring of 2009. He is working in Fall River, Massachusetts at Dynamix Studios and at Studio Live, the new studio in Seakoonk, Massachusetts, designed by award winning producer and engineer Phil Greene. Scott is producing the new CD and he is planning to release it on his own label.

ELISIUM

Elisium is a powerhouse trio performing their own brand of edgy rock music. Originally the band was made up of three brothers, Nathan, Kirb and Gabe Compton. Gabe recently left the band for personal obligations and has been replaced by another Nathan (Thomas). With Nathan Compton on guitars and lead vocals, Kirb on bass and Nathan Thomas on drums Elisium has never sounded better. Their first CD, Things They Carried, is full of original songs showcasing Nathan’s phenomenal vocal abilities as well as his strong guitar playing, Kirb is a master craftsman of the bass guitar and brother Gabe is perfection on the drums. Nathan Thomas had some very big shoes to fill replacing Gabe, however, Elisium’s fans are ecstatic about this current line up so it is safe to say Nate T. has earned his spot in Elisium.

Elisium’s home base is Fredericksburg, VA which is the core of their fan base. The band’s touring has secured them a growing regional fan base South to South Carolina and North in to Boston. Elisium will soon have a national fan base from coast to coast.

Elisium’s live performance is so strong, Hard Volume Records signed the band after a scout from the label saw a live show. It won’t be long before Elisium will be added to shows such as Ozzfest and Monsters of Mayhem. Despite the band’s edgy sound Nathan and Kirb actually perform an excellent acoustic show. The band’s versatility is incredible and Elisium performs for their audience. Their live shows are not only great sounding but the band knows how to play for a crowd.
